
Charleston Softball Takes Series Win at Campbell

Charleston is now 14-16 on the season and 5-1 in conference play. The Cougars lead the south division in conference wins following the series at Campbell.
The Cougars had 12 hits on the afternoon while Bronwyn Conroy had three of Charleston's runs.
CRITICAL POINTS
- Leading off for the Cougars, Conroy singled to begin the game. Leela Langston singled for one RBI and Conroy ran home for the first run of the day. Langston then scored from third and Austy Miller marked an RBI.
- In the circle, Jules Raymond held Campbell scoreless with no hits in the opening frame.
- Halle Cannon and Miller were hit by pitches in the top of the second with bases loaded, adding two more runs for Charleston. Cadence Alberty singled for two RBI and Langston and Cannon ran home for a 6-0 advantage.
- The Camels would add three in the bottom of the second before Campbell Schaen would enter the circle in the bottom of the third, and hold Campbell to a scoreless inning with one strikeout.
- Miller's second RBI of the day came in the top of the fourth with a base hit, sending Cannon home making the score 7-3.
- In the top of the fifth, Charleston went 3-3 and Sitterding sent three runners home to increase Charleston's lead 10-6.
- Campbell would add three more in the bottom of the sixth but would not survive Mackenzie Mathis in the bottom of the seventh, striking out two and earning a save to end the game 10-9.
- The Cougars added their second CAA series win on the 2026 season.
- Conroy had three runs, two hits and two stolen bases Sunday. She leads the team with a .388 batting average, 28 runs, 38 hits and 23 stolen bases.
- Sitterding's single hit of the game earned her one RBI.
- Miller earned three RBI for a season total of 15.
- Cannon is on a four-game hitting streak.
- Charleston hosts NC A&T Friday, March 20 through Sunday, March 22 for the third conference series of the season. First pitch Friday is set for 5 p.m.
- Saturday's game features a Spring has Sprung promotion with a bouquet making station for fans to create their own floral arrangement.
- Sunday is Bark at the Park and fans are encouraged to bring their furry friends to the game. Charleston branded dog toys will be available while supplies last.
