
Softball Travels to Georgia Southern

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston softball will travel to Statesboro, Ga. to play Georgia Southern Tuesday, March 24 at 6:00 p.m.
The Cougars are 16-17 on the season and 7-2 in CAA play.
Mackenzie Mathis was named CAA Pitcher of the Week Monday, March 23 for her 12-strikeout weekend against North Carolina A&T. Mathis allowed just five hits in 10 frames throughout the series.
Charleston claimed its third straight CAA series win defeating the Aggies 6-0 Friday, March 20 and 2-1 Sunday, March 22.
Freshman, Bronwyn Conroy leads the Cougars with a .390 batting average, 41 hits, 31 runs and 26 stolen bases. Conroy is just four stolen bases away from a new program record for most stolen bases in a single season.
Leela Langston has 21 RBI on the season, picking up two over the weekend against N.C. A&T. The junior catcher boasts a .358 batting average with 34 hits and 15 runs so far.
Charleston has faced Georgia Southern 81 times, claiming 30 victories. On the road, the Cougars are 11-24. In the most recent matchup, Charleston fell 15-3 at home in April of 2024.
The Eagles are 12-18 on the 2026 season so far with a 1-5 conference record.
Following Tuesday's mid-week matchup, the Cougars will travel to UNCW for their second road conference series of the season. Friday's game is set for 6 p.m. in Wilmington, N.C.
