
Cougars Take on Seahawks in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Cougars will travel to UNCW for the fourth CAA series of the season beginning Friday, March 27 at 6 p.m.
Charleston will play at 4 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Overall, Charleston holds a 16-18 record and a 7-2 record in the CAA.
Following a dominating 12 strikeout weekend, Mackenzie Mathis was named CAA Pitcher of the Week Monday, March 23. She allowed zero runs in her 10 frames of work against North Carolina A&T helping the Cougars secure the series victory. Mathis shutout the Aggies Friday, March 20 in a 6-0 win.
Bronwyn Conroy continues to lead the Cougars with a .393 batting average. The freshman had three runs and three hits in the conference series against A&T. She is just four stolen bases shy of the Charleston single season record of 30 stolen bases, set by Jay Wrightsman in 2025.
On the 2026 season, UNCW records a 16-13 overall record with a 4-2 CAA record. Most recently, the Seahawks dropped a home series against Elon.
UNCW leads in all time appearances 35-33. On the road, Charleston is 12-20 against the Seahawks. The last time the two teams met was March 2025 and Charleston picked up two wins at home.
