WILMINGTON, N.C. – College of Charleston softball fell 5-2 to UNCW Friday, March 27 on the road.
Charleston moves to 7-3 in the CAA and 16-19 overall.

- Trailing the Seahawks 1-0 in the top of the fourth, Leela Langston grounded out with Bronwyn Conroy and Julia Sitterding on base to send Conroy home and advance Sitterding to third. Next in the batter's box, Halle Cannon doubled for one RBI and for the Cougars to take a 2-1 lead.
- UNCW added three more before the top of the sixth. Austy Miller had a base hit with Langston on first, but the Cougars would not connect before the end of the inning.
- The Seahawks would secure one more run in the bottom of the sixth for a 5-2 finish.
- Charleston had three hits on the evening from three different batters.
- Erin McDaid had one strikeout for her fourth of the season.
- The Cougars are set to play UNCW Saturday, March 28 at 4 p.m. in Wilmington, N.C.
- Following Saturday's game, Charleston will face the Seahawks Sunday, March 29 at 1 p.m. for the series finale.
