CLEMSON, S.C. – Charleston softball lost 7-0 at Clemson Wednesday evening.
Charleston is now 8-13 going into CAA play beginning Friday.

CRITICAL POINTS
- Bronwyn Conroy walked to begin the game and then stole second to enter scoring territory, but Charleston reached three outs before Conroy could advance.
- Halle Cannon reached first on Charleston's first hit of the game in the top of the second.
- Trailing 3-0 in the top of the third, Julia Sitterding advanced to third and Conroy reached first on a throwing error to put two Cougars on base for the first time in the game.
- In the bottom of the fourth, Ryley Kutter entered the circle for Jules Raymond and immediately struck out a Tiger for Charleston's first strikeout.
- Kutter had two more strikeouts but not before Clemson added four more runs across the fourth and fifth to leave the final score 7-0.
- Four Cougars had a hit against Clemson.
- Conroy added one stolen base to her new team high of 18.
- Kutter has struck out 15 opponents so far.
- Charleston returns home to begin conference play hosting Monmouth in a three-game series Friday, March 7 with first pitch set for 5 p.m.
