MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – Ryley Kutter pitched her first complete game of her junior season and struck out seven Hawks in Charleston's 2-1 win over Monmouth Saturday, March 7 at Patriots Point.
The Cougars are now 10-13 in 2026 and 2-0 in CAA play.
Kutter allowed just four hits across seven innings pitched while throwing 89 pitches.

CRITICAL POINTS
- In the bottom of the first, Bronwyn Conroy tripled to lead off the Cougars' attack. Leela Langston singled for 1 RBI while Conroy took it home for an early Charleston lead.
- Langston doubled in the bottom of the third on a 1-0 count. She then ran home on Monmouth's error for the second Cougar run of the day.
- Through four innings, Kutter shut out 12 Hawks demolishing Monmouth's offense.
- In the top of the fifth, Monmouth added one to the score board, but it would not be enough to come back leaving the final score 2-1 Cougars.
- Langston led the Cougars in hits with two. Her season batting average is now .433.
- Conroy recorded her second career triple against Monmouth.
- Kutter struck out four Hawks in the first three innings of play.
- Charleston hosts Monmouth for the final game of the series Sunday, March 8 at Patriots Point with the first pitch set for 12 p.m.
