
Softball Hosts Coastal Carolina

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – Charleston softball is set to host Coastal Carolina at Patriots Point Tuesday, April 14 at 6 p.m.
Charleston has 17 home wins on the season and are looking to pick up their 18th following a loss at Coastal the week prior. The Cougars are 20-22 overall in 2026.
Most recently against Coastal Carolina, freshman Bronwyn Conroy surpassed the program's single season record for stolen bases tallying her 31st of the season. Conroy's 31 stolen bases mark her eighth all-time in single season stolen bases in CAA history. She is just one of nine players to reach 30 and is looking to become just the fourth player to eclipse 40 in league history.
Leela Langston has thrown out 10 would-be base stealers this year which is good for third in the CAA and top 30 nationally. Langston also records a .364 batting average with a team high 27 RBI.
In the circle, Charleston has recorded 177 strikeouts on the 2026 season. Mackenzie Mathis claims 92 while Ryley Kutter trails with 31. Mathis leads the Cougars in innings pitched with 107 and a 3.40 ERA.
The Chanticleers record a 22-22 overall record on the 2026 season with a 6-6 record on the road. Coastal is on a three-game losing streak after hosting Marshall for a conference series.
Against Coastal Carolina, Charleston is 26-53 in program history. Most recently at home, Charleston defeated the Chanticleers 4-2 in April of 2025.
