Charleston to Face W&M in Rubber Match Sunday

The Cougars are now 18-20 and 9-8 in the CAA while the Tribe sit at 15-21 and 7-10 in the conference.
CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST WILLIAM & MARY:
- Freshman Jace Stancil threw five innings in the no-decision, allowing three runs while striking out four.
- Scoreless through four, the Cougars used a five-run fifth to take the lead.
- Following three straight walks, graduate Reece Holbrook singled through the right side to bring home freshman Nick Diaz.
- Redshirt junior Braeden Smith plated the game's second run on freshman Jake Amman's sacrifice fly.
- In the next at bat, graduate Dylan Johnson sent a 3-1 pitch over the left field wall for a three-run shot, capping off the frame.
- The Tribe answered with a run in the bottom of the fifth before leveling the contest with four runs in the sixth.
- William & Mary took the lead for the first time Saturday with a pair of runs in the eighth.
- Johnson has hit a home run in four of the last five ballgames versus William & Mary.
- Holbrook went 2-for-3
OF NOTE:
- Charleston is now 33-14 against William & Mary.
- Sophomore Alex LaCoste singled in the first to extend his hitting streak to eight games and has hits in 23 of the last 24 contests.
- Holbrook swiped his 16th bag of the year Saturday.
