Bryant, Myers Combine for Shutout Sunday

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Redshirt junior Carson Bryant and freshman Kaden Myers combined to shutout William & Mary as College of Charleston baseball won 4-0 Sunday afternoon at Plumeri Park.
With the win, CofC improves to 19-20 overall and 10-8 in the CAA while the Tribe slip to 15-22 and 7-11.

CRITICAL POINTS AGAINST WILLIAM & MARY:
- Graduate Dylan Johnson singled through the left side of the infield in the first to put the Cougars out to an early 1-0 lead.
- Sophomore Alex LaCoste made it a 2-0 ballgame in the third with an RBI single before CofC tacked on a pair of insurance runs in the fourth and ninth innings.
- Bryant fanned four Tribe across his 4.0 scoreless frames, yielding just four hits and one walk. The righty threw 37 of his 51 pitches for strikes.
- Myers came out of the bullpen and continued to silence the W&M offense, picking up his fourth victory of the year in 5.0 innings. Myers walked two and allowed two knocks while striking out three.
OF NOTE:
- Charleston is now 33-14 against William & Mary.
- CofC drew a season-high 11 walks Sunday.
- Sophomore Alex LaCoste singled in the first to extend his hitting streak to nine games and has hits in 24 of the last 25 contests.
- Johnson has thrown out a runner on the base paths four straight ballgames and 19 this season.
- Johnson is tied for the fourth-most runners thrown out in school history.
