Huff, Pointer Named Harris Teeter Student-Athletes of the Week

Darien Huff led the way for the Cougars in their tough 52-41 loss to the Elon Phoenix this weekend, scoring 11 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals in 33 minutes on the floor. The freshman sunk three long-range attempts on six attempts, matching a career-high. Huff has now started every one of her 17 games during her collegiate career, averaging 30.8 minutes per game, the second-highest clip for the College.

Marquise Pointer | Men's Basketball | Freshman | Jonesboro, Ark. | Undecided

Freshman guard Marquise Pointer (Jonesboro, Ark.) led College of Charleston to a 2-0 week with back-to-back wins over Towson (40-37) on Jan. 21 and Delaware (59-58) on Jan. 23. It marked the Cougars' first-ever road victory at Towson and first-ever win against Delaware since joining the CAA in July of 2013. Pointer averaged a team-leading 11.5 points along with 2.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists versus the Tigers and Blue Hens combined. He also knocked down five three-pointers including a career-high tying four in the team's one-point victory over Delaware in which he turned in a team-high 16 points in 38 minutes of action. Pointer has now reached double figures 10 times this season and has led the Cougars in the scoring column on three occasions. He currently ranks among the Top 10 league leaders in assists (3.0 apg) and steals (1.3 spg).
