Charleston, S.C. – College of Charleston plays its final road series of the regular season when the Cougars visit Elon this weekend.
The teams play a doubleheader Saturday at noon and a single game Sunday at 1 p.m.
The Cougars will be looking to get back on track after losing three times at North Carolina A&T last weekend, including two in heartbreaking fashion. At 9-9 in the CAA, Charleston is in sixth place with the top eight qualifying for the postseason.
Elon is in fourth place with a conference record of 11-6, trailing Delaware (14-4) and Hofstra and UNCW (12-6). The Phoenix have series wins over Stony Brook, Monmouth, Towson and UNCW and only need one more win to clinch a tournament berth.
The all-time series is deadlocked at 33 wins each, but Elon has won 11 of the past 12 including three of four a year ago. The teams split a regular season series at Elon, and the Phoenix won twice in the CAA Tournament.
Following the seasons at Elon, the Cougars wrap up the regular season at Patriots Point on May 5-6 with a series against UNCW. The tournament takes place May 9-13 in Hempstead, N.Y.
