MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – College of Charleston lost to Dartmouth, 10-2, and Rhode Island, 12-4, on the opening day of the Lowcountry Classic at Patriots Point.
Game 1
- Charleston cut a 2-0 deficit in half in the second on a double by Kennedy Rhue and a sacrifice fly by Leela Langston.
- The double was Rhue's first hit as a Cougar, and the RBI was the first of Langston's career.
- Brooke Tranum doubled with one out in the fifth and scored on an error.
- Mackenzie Mathis struck out four in 2.2 innings.
Game 2
- Jay Wrightsman had three hits including a triple and run scored in the third.
- The Cougars added another run in the fourth when Langston singled and scored from first on a throwing error.
- Langston recorded the first multi-hit game of her career when she singled in the sixth.
- Wrightsman followed with a bunt single, and both runners scored on a double by Halle Cannon.
- Wrightsman boosted her season average to .318 while Sierra Paradis had two hits and is now batting .308.
