
Charleston Softball Takes on Hampton on the Road

HAMPTON, VA. – College of Charleston softball travels to Virginia to take on Hampton April 17-19. The series opener is set for 3 p.m. on Friday, April 17.
The Cougars are 21-22 on the season following a 9-6 win over Coastal Carolina at Patriots Point April 14.
In league play, Charleston is 10-5 for a third-place ranking in the South Division ahead of Elon, N.C. A&T and Hampton.
In Tuesday's victory over the Chanticleers, senior Austy Miller drove in four runs while also scoring one. Miller had one double and one triple going 2-for-4 at the plate. The senior shortstop records a .278 batting average on the season with 37 hits and 19 RBI.
Charleston had a season high 14 hits against Coastal and sophomore catcher Leela Langston tallied three. Langston has 46 hits on the season with a .380 batting average while leading the Cougars with 29 RBI.
In the circle, senior Kendall Thackston struck out three including one in the top of the seventh for the third out to end the game. Thackston records a 4.13 ERA and a 2-0 record. She has pitched 20.1 innings for 11 strikeouts during her senior season.
Hampton holds a 9-27 overall record and a 3-15 record in the CAA. The Pirates are 4-13 at home and most recently went 1-2 against Elon at Hampton Softball Stadium.
Against the Pirates, Charleston holds a 12-2 advantage on the all-time series. In 2025, the Cougars won 10-2 and 7-1 in a doubleheader at Patriots Point.
