
Softball Hosts Charleston Southern for Mid-Week Doubleheader

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – College of Charleston softball welcomes Charleston Southern to Patriots Point Wednesday, April 22 for a doubleheader, with game one beginning at 3 p.m. and game two to follow at 5 p.m.
Charleston is 23-23 following a 2-1 weekend at Hampton. In the CAA, the Cougars have gone 12-6 so far. CofC is looking to pick up its 20th home win of the season against the Buccaneers.
Over the weekend, Charleston dominated Hampton in the first game of the series scoring 15 runs with every batter scoring at least one. Austy Miller scored three in the victory, including a home run in the top of the first inning.
In the circle, Ryley Kutter threw a career high nine strikeouts and Kendall Thackston threw a season high five strikeouts against Hampton.
Through 46 games, Bronwyn Conroy leads the Cougars with a .403 batting average, 60 hits and 34 stolen bases. Conroy holds the program record for stolen bases and is on track to join just three players in CAA history to eclipse 40 in a single season.
Leela Langston trails Conroy with a .367 batting average and 47 hits on the season. Langston leads the team in RBI with 31 and ranks seventh in the CAA.
Charleston Southern is 8-38 so far this season and 3-12 in the Big South. On the road CSU has won two games. Most recently, Charleston Southern went 1-2 at Presbyterian, winning the series finale 10-2.
Against the Buccaneers, Charleston holds a 59-37 advantage and a 32-19 record at Patriots. The Cougars defeated Charleston Southern 8-6 on the road in April of 2025. The last time the Buccaneers came to Patriots was 2022 for a doubleheader.
Wednesday's game features a Play Green promotion to celebrate Earth Day. Charleston will giveaway flower seeds to fans while supplies last.
Following Wednesday's doubleheader, Charleston will host the final home series of the season against UNCW April 24-26.
