Charleston Hosts UNCW for Final Home Series

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. – College of Charleston softball hosts UNCW for the final home series of the 2026 season April 24-26 at Patriots Point.
First pitch on Friday is set for 5 p.m. while Saturday's game is at 3 p.m. The final game will be played Sunday at noon.
Charleston is 24-24 on the season following a split doubleheader at home against Charleston Southern Wednesday, April 22. The Cougars are 12-6 in league play.
Mackenzie Mathis pitched five innings against the Buccaneers on Wednesday. She tallied five strikeouts totaling 99 on her sophomore season. Mathis ranks fifth in the CAA in strikeouts and is tied for third in wins with 12.
In the Cougars' victory over the Buccaneers, Hailey Seymour hit a walk-off single for the eighth walk-off win of the season. Seymour has 20 hits on the season and has driven in 18 runs so far.
Bronwyn Conroy continues to lead the team with a .391 batting average, 42 runs and 61 hits. The freshman tallied her 35th stolen base of the season in the second game of the doubleheader against CSU. Conroy ranks seventh in the CAA in batting average and second in hits.
In March of 2026, Charleston traveled to UNCW for a series and went 0-3 in Wilmington. In the first game of the series, the Cougars took a 2-1 lead in the top of the fourth, but the Seahawks would come back for a 5-2 final score.
The Seahawks have gone 27-15 overall this season with a 14-4 CAA record. On the road they have won eight games and dropped six. Most recently, UNCW went 2-1 against Drexel on the road.
UNCW leads 38-33 in all-time appearances. The last time UNCW traveled to Charleston was March 2025 and Charleston picked up two wins at Patriots.
Saturday's game will feature a fan appreciation/kid's day promotion with Charleston branded belt bags as a giveaway and a face painter.
