MT. PLEASANT, S.C. - The College of Charleston softball team lost 13-2 to Elon in five innings to close out the weekend series at Patriots Point.

Savannah Lockhart hit a two-run home run in the first inning, her second of the season to account for both Charleston runs. The Cougars led 2-1 after the first, but the Phoenix scored in every following inning to secure their weekend sweep.

Kaytlin Stacey and Brooke Marquez each picked up hits, but the Cougar offense was unable to plate more runs.

Charleston will head up the coast to face Coastal Carolina next Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
