Coastal Carolina Takes Doubleheader from Cougars

MT. PLEASANT, S.C. – Coastal Carolina took both ends of a doubleheader from College of Charleston by scores of 14-3 and 14-2 Tuesday at Patriots Point.
The Chanticleers scored six runs in each of the first two innings of the first game. The Cougars scored on a sacrifice fly by Mia Dittoe in the fourth and added two in the fifth including an RBI single by Jenna Helberg.
Noel Dominguez and Shealyn Starks produced the CofC runs in the second game with back-to-back doubles to cut a four-run Coastal lead in half. Dominguez had two hits in the nightcap and three on the day. Starks has now hit safely in 10 of the past 12 contests.
The Cougars return to CAA play this weekend with a three-game series against UNCW at Patriots Point.
