Cougars Fall to Aggies in Extras

The Aggies opened the game with two runs, but the Cougars responded with a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the frame.
Halle Cannon led off the second inning with her third home run of the season, but the Aggies quickly regained their lead with five runs in the third frame.
The Cougars rallied in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game back up at 7-7. Malaka Belser walked and Brooke Marquez hit a double that set up Cannon's second homer of the game to bring in three runs. Kaytlin Stacey and Shealyn Starks each singled and Savannah Lockhart drove them both in to tie the game.
Both teams went scoreless in the seventh and eighth innings before the Aggies plated two in the ninth. Marquez recorded her career-high fourth hit of the afternoon in the bottom of the frame and Stacey doubled to bring her home to cut the deficit to one, but the Cougars were unable to complete the comeback.
Charleston and NC A&T will face off for the series win on Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
